Company History

Squash is a racquet sport played with 2-4 players on a four wall court. The sport was invented in England in the 19th Century and has become more popular among health clubs, ivy league schools, universities, and other academic programs. Jordan Aldrich has been working in the Squash industry for 15 years and has installed  many courts all over the US and Canada. He has spent a decade learning from each installation and  perfecting the courts to produce a premium product. The courts have come from Europe and timing, shipping and product defects have been an issue.

Project Description

Jordan  plans to acquire the property at 2875 Merchant Road to use as a manufacturing facility for the Squash courts. Bringing the manufacturing of the courts closer to home will produce a better product, more cost efficient and made in the USA. The project will include the acquisition, renovations and improvements to the existing building to create a manufacturing facility for Squash Courts, with a total cost of $552,700. The project is eligible for sales tax exemption of $18,308, mortgage recording tax exemption of $3,718 and a 10-year PILOT for Real Property abatement of approximately $72,207. If approved, total incentives for the project would be estimated at $94,233. The Company currently uses 9  independent contractors to install the courts received from Europe. Sunrise is expecting to create 4 new manufacturing positions over the next three years.
