There’s so much to see and do all year round in Wyoming County. We may be most known for the magnificent “Grand Canyon of the East” Letchworth State Park – and rightly so – but that’s just one of the many great adventures that our region has for you to enjoy. 

Wyoming County has 11 spectacular golf courses, each filled with beautiful rolling hills and wide open spaces that are peaceful and serene. Wyoming County is rich with historical experiences, from the pride of our involvement with the Underground Railroad, to the rich Seneca Indian history, to William Pryor Letchworth’s beneficial impact on the area. Winter, spring, summer and fall produce a variety of adventure that makes the county a very sought after outdoor destination. We have world class fishing (some of the best trout in the state), and hunting. Seasonal water sports also abound with sailing and motor boating, kayaking, river rafting and swimming opportunities. In the winter, you will want to try out the groomed trails and go snowmobiling or try your hand at cross-country skiing.

You will also find an eclectic array of whimsical shops, locally owned businesses and inviting country farm stands throughout Wyoming County. Our main streets are made up of quaint, friendly stores, and you can find anything from mouthwatering produce to hand-made artisan crafts in unexpected places along the way.

The arts and cultural environment in Wyoming County is strong and has a big impact on the quality of life in the region. Visit one of our many galleries, most of which promote the works of local artists, stop in to a local history museum, visit the Drive-in, take in a Shakespearean play on the shores of Silver Lake, culture is thriving and fun for all ages. From arts and craft festivals, downtown farmers markets, historic re-enactments, the fall Apple Umpkin Festival, and the award winning Letchworth Arts and Craft Festival provide excitement throughout the year.

Our close proximity to Buffalo and Rochester offers residents a wide variety of social, cultural and commercial activities including additional art galleries, museums, theaters, music halls, philharmonic orchestras, shopping malls and restaurants. Sports fans enjoy major league teams like the NFL's Buffalo Bills and the NHL's Buffalo Sabres as well as Triple A baseball.
